A glance. A nod. An open hand.
Choose the movements that feel comfortable for you. Look left, right, up or down; turn or tilt your head; or use a hand gesture such as an open palm, a closed fist or a thumbs-up.
Enable the gestures you want and assign each one an action. You could open your palm to reveal an answer, turn your head right for the next card, and look left to go back. You choose the combinations.

02 / Give a movement a job
If a key can do it, map a gesture to it.
Pick a gesture in Controls, choose a keyboard key or shortcut, and save. Use the actual keys your study app expects: Space to reveal an answer, an arrow to move between cards, or a number to grade your recall.
You can also assign mouse actions and scrolling where your device supports them. Save separate Control Sets for different uses, then switch to the set you want.
Try the example: change the key, then simulate the gesture. These are sample controls; your own app may use different keys.

03 / Make the screen work for you
No shortcut? Choose where to tap.
Open Screen mapper and place a tap region over the button you want to press. Give it a clear name, such as “Show answer”, then connect a gesture to that region. When the gesture is recognised, FaceCards sends the tap to that spot on supported devices.
Set up regions for revealing, rating or moving to the next card. Keep different layouts for portrait and landscape, and check their positions when your app’s layout changes.
Explore the screen example: switch orientation, then tap the highlighted regions. They show the places you could assign to gestures.

04 / Find your rhythm
Calibrate once. Settle into studying.
Install FaceCards Desktop, allow camera access and run Calibration there in your usual sitting position. Adjust how long a movement must be held and the pause between actions, so your controls respond to deliberate movements. Test a few cards, then fine-tune what feels right.
Use a controller for your device and keep the study app you want to control in focus. Tracking runs locally on your device. You can pause it whenever you need a break.
A note on devices: Available controls depend on your platform. Desktop controllers can send system keyboard and mouse inputs. Android screen control needs its accessibility permission. On iPhone and iPad, controls work within supported FaceCards app and Safari contexts. The website lets you configure your controls; check Downloads for the controller available for your device.
